King Fahad National Library
The library is a commemorative landmark built at the citizens' expense as an architectural masterpiece, in cooperation with the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, which provided the land and the technical, architectural, and administrative supervision. The building was designed as an architectural library, then converted into the national library of Saudi Arabia on the proposal of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, who played a leading role in establishing and equipping it, serving as head of the advisory committee during construction. The country thus gained a national library after a long wait.
