Asir Regional Museum

Asir Regional Museum is one of the largest museums in the Asir region. It is in the centre of Abha on King Khalid Street, near the historic Shada Palace, and covers an area of more than 7,000 square metres. The museum has eight specialised halls that take the visitor on a journey through the history of the region, covering prehistoric times, the pre-Islamic period, the Islamic eras, the history of the Saudi state in its three phases, and local folk heritage, along with a hall for temporary exhibitions. It holds a collection of rare artefacts that document life in Asir through the ages.
