Taif Regional Museum
Shubra Historic Palace is one of the historic palaces in the city of Taif. It was built by Sharif Ali bin Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Abdulmuin Pasha in 1323 AH, then turned into the regional museum of Taif Governorate and opened to visitors in 1415 AH. King Abdulaziz Al Saud and Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud used it as a palace when they visited the city of Taif. The museum gives an overview of the palace's construction and the historical and political stages it has witnessed. It also holds a collection of stone tools, pottery pieces and panels of rock inscriptions and writings, as well as a section on crafts and industries in Taif, such as the extraction of Taif rose, and another section on the old market. Inside the palace museum are archaeological remains, inscriptions and drawings on stone rocks, neatly arranged and hung on wooden shelves and stands. These remains were discovered in Taif Governorate and date back to earlier Islamic eras.
