Ekrimah Dam
Ekrimah Dam is considered the first dam built in the Kingdom. It played a major positive role in protecting the city of Taif from the dangers of floods that constantly caused it damage, as well as in supporting the city's water sources. The dam was built in 1375 AH (1955 CE) during the reign of King Saud bin Abdulaziz. A marble foundation plaque bears the date of construction, worded: "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Ekrimah Dam in Taif. This dam was built in the reign of King Saud the First, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, may Allah support him with victory from Himself and keep him as a treasure for the Arabs and Muslims, in the year 1375 AH, Ministry of Agriculture." The writing uses several calligraphic styles, including Kufic, Persian and Thuluth.
