Masjid Bani Ghifar
Masjid Bani Ghifar is one of the traditionally recorded archaeological mosques in which, according to reports, the Prophet (peace be upon him) prayed, and it is also known as the Great Cave of Bani Haram. Its name comes from the Ghifar tribe, one of the tribes of Kinanah, many of whose members embraced Islam early and settled in this part of Madinah. The mosque bears witness to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) connection with the various neighbourhoods and tribes that lived in Madinah, as he would visit them and pray there to strengthen Islamic brotherhood among the Muhajirun, the Ansar and the Muslim tribes. It still stands today as one of the small archaeological landmarks sought out by lovers of Islamic history and the Prophet's biography in Madinah.
