Masjid Al Suqya
Masjid Al Suqya is a small mosque topped by three domes, covering an area of 56 square metres, without a minaret and with an Ottoman design. It takes its name from its proximity to the Well of Al Suqya, from which the Prophet (peace be upon him) is reported to have performed ablution on his way to the great Battle of Badr, praying near it and supplicating for the people of Madinah. Umar ibn Abdulaziz (may Allah be pleased with him), during his governorship of Madinah, later built a mosque on the spot where he prayed. The mosque was restored during the reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd ibn Abdulaziz in 1423-1424 AH, as part of the projects to care for the historical and archaeological mosques of Madinah, so that it remains a witness to this stage of the Prophet's biography.
