Masjid Al Fath
Masjid Al Fath lies on the slope of Mount Sala, west of the Prophet's Mosque, where the tent of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was pitched on the day of the Battle of the Trench (Al Ahzab), and close to it is the cemetery of the martyrs of the Trench. It is called Al Fath (the Victory) because of the victory the Muslims achieved after the battle, and is also called the Mosque of the Confederates because the Prophet (peace be upon him) prayed against the Confederates there. It is also known as the Upper Mosque because of its elevation above the surrounding mosques.
