Wadi Lajab in Al Reeth
Wadi Lajab is a rift and fracture in the eastern part of Jabal Al Qahr (Zahwan), in Al Reeth governorate, which lies 150 kilometres north-east of the city of Jazan. It is considered one of the most important and prominent tourist sites and a place visited all year round by people from the region and other parts of the Kingdom. Like other tourist sites in the Jazan region, Wadi Lajab in Al Reeth governorate is seeing a growing number of visitors from inside and outside the region. Visitors can drive about 2 kilometres into the valley from the entrance, after which the valley passage narrows and continuing on foot becomes a pleasure, among the spray flying from the waterfalls and pools scattered along the valley and the golden sunlight that visits the valley for only a few hours, when it reaches the middle of the sky and its rays fall straight down. The place is made even more enjoyable and beautiful by the valley's hanging gardens on both sides, with dense palm trees at heights that may exceed 30 metres, among long-lived trees that cling to life, their roots stretching from about the middle of the valley's two edges down to the watercourse below.
