Jabal Hassan Island in Umluj

Jabal Hassan Island lies on the north-western coast of Saudi Arabia in the Red Sea and belongs administratively to Umluj governorate in the Tabuk region. It is about 18 kilometres from the shore of the city of Umluj. It is named Jabal Hassan after the Hasasinah clan of the Juhaynah tribe, and in the past it was a passage for ships between Egypt and the Arabian Peninsula and Jordan.
