Al Muadham Castle
Al Muadham Castle is a historic fortress and one of the monuments of the late Islamic period. It lies south-east of Tabuk, in the centre of Al Muadham. It was built in 1031 AH (1622 CE) during the reign of the Ottoman Sultan Osman II and stood on the Syrian pilgrimage road. It is one of the largest Ottoman forts used to watch over and protect pilgrims, and it includes the Al Muadham pond and a railway station. Four foundation inscriptions record its construction on the castle's facade.
