Wasit Castle archaeological

A beautiful Turkish castle on the Hajj route during Ottoman rule, between Yanbu Al Nakhl and Badr Governorate. Beside it is a well called Bir Al Sultani (some call it Bir Al Sultani). Tamarisk trees, planted by the Turks, can be seen in the picture. At one period this castle was the meeting point of the Syrian and Egyptian pilgrim routes.
