King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture
The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture, or Ithra, is a cultural center owned by Saudi Aramco. It stands on the same site in Dhahran where Bir Al-Khair (the Well of Goodness), the Kingdom's first oil well, was discovered. Its design takes the form of a group of stacked stones that hold a modern library, an innovation center, an Idea Lab for children that is the first museum of its kind for children in the Arab world, a natural history museum, art halls and an archive center. The Knowledge Tower rises in the middle, offering educational programs for pioneers of all ages. In 2018 it was chosen by the American magazine Time as one of the 100 greatest places in the world.
