Ghar Thowr

Cave Thawr lies on the northern side of Mount Thawr, south of Makkah, about four kilometres south of the Grand Mosque (Masjid al-Haram). It is the cave in which the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Abu Bakr al-Siddiq took refuge on their way to Madinah during the Hijrah. It stands 760 metres above sea level.
