Mehaires Palace

Mehaires Palace is in Al-Ahsa Governorate, in eastern Saudi Arabia. It was built by Imam Saud bin Abdulaziz on the top of a hill in 1208 AH for military purposes. It is a small fortress of round towers with a number of rooms, where weapons, supplies and ammunition were stored. The fort witnessed a battle between the Imam's forces and the forces of Zayd bin Urayar, who were driven out of northern Al Mubarraz and the northern villages of Al-Ahsa.
