Jawatha Mosque

Jawatha Mosque (also spelled Juwatha or Jawatha) is in Al-Ahsa Governorate in eastern Saudi Arabia, about 17 kilometres north-east of the city of Hofuf, within a park of the same name. It was built in the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) by the people of the Bahrain region, the Banu Abd al-Qays, who embraced Islam willingly rather than under compulsion. The Prophet praised them, saying: "Honour your brothers, for they are the most like you; they accepted Islam willingly, not under compulsion." The foundations of the mosque still stand today.
