Umm Sinman Mountain
Umm Sinman Mountain is one of the mountains of the Hail region in the north of Saudi Arabia. It lies west of the town of Jubbah, about 100 kilometres northwest of Hail in the Nafud desert. Jubbah is one of the most important archaeological sites in the Kingdom, with inscriptions and rock art spread across Umm Sinman Mountain and the nearby mountains, dating to different periods. The area was originally an ancient lake bed surrounded by the dunes of the Great Nafud, with sedimentary mountains rising to the west and south, the most prominent being Umm Sinman, Ghota, Shuwayhit and Unayzah. In 2015, the "Rock Art in the Hail Region" site, which includes Umm Sinman Mountain in Jubbah and the Manjor and Raat mountains in Shuwaymis, was inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List.
