Rajajil Columns
The Rajajil Columns are an archaeological site, the oldest in the Al-Jouf region of Saudi Arabia, in the Qarah suburb south of Sakaka. The site consists of 50 groups of upright stone columns known as the Rajajil, each group made up of three to seven columns carved from sandstone. Some of the standing columns are more than three metres tall and about 60 centimetres thick. They are called the Rajajil ("men") because from a distance they look like the figure of a man.
