The National Museum
About the Saudi National Museum From the earth to the moon, and from prehistoric times to the modern era, the halls of the Saudi National Museum take you on a fascinating journey beyond time and place, standing before artistic and historical evidence in the heart of Riyadh in the Al Murabba district, next to King Abdulaziz Palace. The museum opened in 1419 AH on an area of 17,000 square meters, where the stories of 3,700 heritage pieces unfold, including statues, manuscripts and sculptures like no others. The Saudi National Museum has eight sections filled with the spirit of history, beginning in the Man and the Universe Hall, where you learn about the origin of the universe and the solar system, and the natural factors that have influenced its development over millions of years. The Ancient Arabian Kingdoms Hall lets you immerse yourself in civilizations that spanned from the fourth millennium BC to the second century AD, while patterns of religious and social life before Islam appear in the Pre-Islamic Era Hall. The life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is shown in the Prophetic Mission Hall, from the revelation until his migration to Madinah. The history of the unification of the Kingdom appears in a documentary film in the Unification of the Kingdom Hall, and the Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques Hall covers aspects of the architectural development of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque.
