The Cultural House
The Cultural House - Altaawun Public Library is one of the most prominent modern cultural projects in Riyadh. Located in King Salman Oasis, it offers a new model of public library as an integrated cultural house. The project covers 5,000 square meters of the oasis's total area of 25,000 square meters. The library building itself is about 1,200 square meters over two floors, designed in a contemporary style that provides an inviting learning environment. The Cultural House aims to achieve the goals of the Libraries Commission by: Developing the public library sector in the Kingdom. Improving access to cultural and knowledge services. Supporting community participation and capacity building. Establishing reading habits among all segments of society. A Tech Lab offering modern digital tools and equipment. An interactive children's library designed to encourage a love of reading. A cafe where visitors can enjoy a comfortable reading experience in a contemporary atmosphere.
