Shamsan Castle

Shamsan Historic Castle is located on one of the peaks overlooking Abha. It was built by the Turks in the Ottoman period to protect their soldiers and is now a viewpoint for seeing the city. Although the interior is currently closed to visitors, walking around its stone walls and enjoying the outside view is still an experience worth a short visit, especially at sunset. It is open around the clock, with walking paths and seating around the site.
