Bir Al
Bir Al-Hujaym lies south-west of Al Usbah District, with an ancient mosque beside it to the north, and is about 1,450 metres from Quba Mosque. It is named after a fortified tower that stood near it, and is also called "Al-Hujayr" or "Al-Hujm". Its origin goes back to Bani Majda'a and Bani Jahjaba ibn Kulfa of the Aws, who lived in Al Usbah. The biography books mention that the Prophet (peace be upon him) prayed in the nearby Masjid Al-Tawba in Al Usbah, but nothing indicates that he drank from the well directly. It is a shallow well lined with black lava stone, fed by Wadi Ranuna, and it has been renewed and maintained over the years; people still drink from it and perform ablution there. The well received great attention in the Saudi era, with successive restoration and development works.
