Bir Al
Al-Rawha is a broad area on the old caravan route between Madinah and Makkah, stretching about 25 kilometres south-west of Madinah from Sharaf Al-Rawha to Al-Munsaraf (Al-Musayjid). It is rich in historic landmarks, mountains, ravines and valleys, and it is said to have been a route for prophets travelling to the Sacred House for pilgrimage. The Prophet (peace be upon him) prayed in many places there, and its best-known sites include Sharaf Al-Rawha, Irq Al-Zabya, Bir Al-Rawha, Mount Warqan, Mount Shanuka and Fajj Al-Rawha. The Prophet (peace be upon him) took this route to the Battle of Badr, the conquest of Makkah, the Farewell Pilgrimage and other expeditions. The area received great attention in the Saudi era: the well was restored and the surrounding area developed, so that it remains a destination that inspires visitors with its lessons and examples.
